Little Magazines are those which publish creative, often innovative work, with little or no regard for commercial gain. They provide an outlet for new creative work in literature and the other arts which in many cases is outside the criteria governing most mainstream journals. They sometimes have very small print runs and may last for relatively few issues. UCL has been collecting these magazines since 1964, and this pop-up highlights some of the collection of 10,500 items. This pop-up will be of particular interest to poets, artists, and people who like to make their own zines. It is curated by Anne Welsh (UCL Department of Information Studies), Liz Lawes (UCL Libraries) and Siobhan Britton (MA LIS candidate, UCL Department of Information Studies) with the support of UCL Library Special Collections. Click here for more information about UCL’s collection.
A collaboration with The UCL Festival of Reading.
Followed by a Zine-Making Workshop (ticketed). Please click here for more information about the workshop.
